MADRID, Spain -- Uncapped Villarreal goalkeeper Pepe Reina has been named in a 27-strong Spain squad for a team-building session next Monday.
The 22-year-old former Barcelona player was called up by coach Luis Aragones alongside first-choice keeper Iker Casillas and Santiago Canizares.
Reina, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool at the end of the season, has played a key role in Villarreal's drive to third position in the Primera Liga.
Also included was Valencia midfielder Vicente, who recently returned to action after an ankle injury kept him out for most of the season.
Luis Garcia and Xabi Alonso, who will play for Liverpool in next Wednesday's Champions League final against AC Milan, have also been included in the list although it is not clear if they will be joining up with their international colleagues just two days before the match in Istanbul.
Real Zaragoza centre forward David Villa, Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo and Deportivo Coruna defender Enrique Romero have also been named.
Spain, who are in joint-second place behind Group Seven leaders Serbia & Montenegro, host Lithuania and Bosnia in two World Cup qualifiers in Valencia at the start of June.
Aragones will name his definitive squad next Thursday.
