Sociedad decide against Mladenovic
MADRID, Spain -- Serbian midfielder Dragan Mladenovic will return to Rangers, after Real Sociedad revealed they will not use their option to buy the player.
The versatile central midfielder, who can also play in the back four, joined Sociedad on loan in February as a replacement for the injured Igor Jauregi.
The Basque club, who finished in 14th place in the Primera Liga, said the Serbia & Montenegro international had been told of the decision last week.
Mladenovic joined Rangers from Red Star Belgrade for 1.6 million euros ($2 million) on a four-year deal in June 2004.
Rangers won the Scottish league title just over a week ago, overhauling arch-rivals Celtic in a dramatic final day of the season.
