MADRID, Spain -- Real Zaragoza striker David Villa has been drafted into Spain's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania and Bosnia, after Raul Tamudo was forced to drop out because of injury.

Tamudo, who plays for Espanyol, withdrew from the squad on Wednesday morning after suffering a muscle strain in his right leg during the previous evening's training.

Villa, who scored 15 goals for Zaragoza this season, has made just one appearance for Spain, playing in the 5-0 victory over San Marino in February.

Spain are in joint second place with Lithuania in Group Seven, two points behind leaders Serbia & Montenegro.

They play Lithuania on Saturday and then meet Bosnia on June 8 with both games taking place at Valencia's Mestalla stadium.
