MONACO, France -- French international midfielder Olivier Kapo, who helped Juventus to lift the Serie-A title last season, is joining French club Monaco on loan for the next campaign.
The 24-year-old, originally from the Ivory Coast, made 14 appearances for Juve in his first season.
He began his career with Auxerre in 1998, was a French Cup winner in 2003 and has also established himself as an gifted attacking midfielder.
"I am really happy to sign for Monaco," said Kapo.
"Everything went well with the management and coach Didier Deschamps. I was also in contact with Paris SG, but Monaco did everything to get me to come and I really wanted to sign here,"
He has won nine caps for France, scoring three goals, and was a member of the 2003 Confederations Cup winning side.
The deal is the fifth new signing for Monaco following the transfers of goalkeeper Guillaume Warmuz (Borussia Dortmund), striker Toifilou Maoulida (Rennes) and midfielders Oliver Sorlin (Rennes) and Gerard Lopez (Barcelona).
