Czech champions Sparta sack Hrebik
![]() Sparta skipper Poborsky was loaned out after opposing ex-coach Hrebik PRAGUE, Czech Republic (Reuters) -- Czech champions Sparta Prague have fired coach Jarosalv Hrebik after a series of losses, team boss Daniel Kretinsky said on Monday. No replacement has been appointed but the club is in talks with several Czech and Slovak coaches and will pick one by the end of the week, Kretinsky said. Sparta have only one point from their two Champions League Group B matches so far and are ninth in the domestic league. They have also lost captain Karel Poborsky, now on loan with second division Ceske Budejovice for opposing Hrebik. Jarolim drafted inHamburg midfielder David Jarolim received his first senior call-up on Monday for the Czech Republic's World Cup qualifiers against the Netherlands and Finland. The 26-year-old was part of the Czech side that finished runners-up at the under-21 European championships in 2000. The Czechs have also called up defender Martin Jiranek of Spartak Moscow who last played in a qualifier against Andorra in March. Karel Brueckner's side trail Group One leaders Netherlands by four points, but are two points ahead of third-placed Romania They need at least two points to make it to the play-offs in November. The Czechs host the Dutch in Prague on Saturday and face Finland in Helsinki four days later.
