MADRID, Spain -- Spain have chosen Atletico Madrid's Vicente Calderon stadium as the venue for the home leg of their World Cup play-off in November.

Spain will meet Norway, Slovakia or Switzerland on November 12 and 16 in a two-legged play-off for one of the remaining places at next year's World Cup finals in Germany.

The draw, during which the order of the matches will be decided, will take place in Zurich on Friday.

Luis Aragones' side crushed San Marino 6-0 on Wednesday, but still finished second in Group Seven, two points behind Serbia & Montenegro who beat Balkan rivals Bosnia 1-0 in Belgrade.

Spain have never lost at the Calderon, winning five and drawing two of the seven internationals at the stadium.

Spanish football authorities are also discussing moving the midweek round of league matches scheduled for November 9 to give the national side more time to prepare for the playoff.
