Top players are omitted by Sweden
![]() Arsenal midfielder Ljungberg is one of the stars left out of the Sweden squad STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Sweden coach Lars Lagerback has rested top players in naming his squad for the friendly against South Korea in Seoul on November 12. Strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Larsson, Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg, captain Olof Mellberg and first-choice goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson are all missing from the 20-man squad. "Since we'll have so little time during spring we'll have the chance now to see some new players," said Lagerback, whose team have qualified for the World Cup finals. One of those is Tobias Hysen, the key player in Djurgarden's clinching of the Swedish double and arguably the best player on Swedish soil at the moment. "It feels great to bring along Tobias. It's always interesting with a player with his qualities, not least the speed," Lagerback said. Hysen, whose father Glenn captained Sweden in the eighties, has only won two caps so far but it will be the 23-year-old's second match with South Korea against whom he made his international debut in January when Sweden drew 1-1. Lagerback has included Panathinaikos midfielder Mikael Nilsson in the squad. Nilsson was a Sweden regular in Euro 2004 but has struggled recently to make it into the first team. Lagerback said that friendlies against the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in January would feature a squad drawn only from Nordic clubs. Squad: Goalkeepers: John Alvbage (Viborg), Eddie Gustafsson (Ham-Kam) Defenders: Christoffer Andersson (Lillestrom), Mikael Dorsin (Rosenborg), Petter Hansson (Heerenveen), Teddy Lucic (Haecken), Daniel Majstorovic (Twente), Alexander Ostlund (Feyenoord) Midfielders: Fredrik Risp (Genclerbirligi), Niclas Alexandersson (Gothenburg), Daniel Andersson (Malmo), Tobias Linderoth (Copenhagen), Anders Svensson (Elfsborg), Christian Wilhelmsson (Anderlecht), Mikael Nilsson (Panathinaikos) Strikers: Marcus Allback (Copenhagen), Johan Elmander (Brondby), Mattias Jonson (Djurgarden), Markus Rosenberg (Amsterdam), Tobias Hysen (Djurgarden)
