Two-goal Henry is congratulated by team-mates as Arsenal win

LONDON, England -- Thierry Henry scored twice as Arsenal ended Wigan Athletic's six-game Premier League winning streak with a dramatic 3-2 victory at the JJB Stadium Saturday.

Wigan's record crowd were treated to a pulsating first half in which Arsenal raced into a 2-0 lead after 21 minutes with goals from Robin Van Persie and Henry.

Henri Camara gave second-placed Wigan a lifeline after 28 minutes only for Henry to restore Arsenal's two-goal cushion with a free kick.

Wigan, who have enjoyed a superb start to their first season in the top flight, hit back again on the stroke of halftime when Jimmy Bullard turned Sol Campbell to shoot past Jens Lehmann.

Arsenal survived some nervy moments in the second half as Wigan pressed for an equalizer, but hung on for their first away victory of the season.

Henry later refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with Spanish Primera Liga giants Barcelona.

Barcelona sporting director Txiki Beguiristain on Saturday claimed Henry, who has yet to sign a contract extension at Highbury, could play with Samuel Eto'o and Ronaldino.

And Barca manager Frank Rijkaard added fuel to the fire by saying Henry is a great player and "would be a great addition to the squad."

But the talismanic Frenchman, who has just 18 months left to run on his Arsenal contract, dismissed the speculation.

"I think today you saw why I play," he said. "People talk more about it (my future) than they talk about (popular television series) Eastenders.

"They should talk more about the game, we won finally away from home. I am starting to get sick of seeing my face in the papers."

Henry played a crucial role in the victory, scoring twice, and looked a relieved man after Wigan laid siege to the Arsenal goal in the closing stages.

"They didn't surprise me because I saw them play very well and they were good again today. They didn't concede goals for a long time," he said.

"They made it very difficult for us even at the end they could have got the third goal."
