(CNN) -- Enormous advances are being made in all areas of technology on a daily basis. CNN's Human Technology special talks to some of the people whose lives have been affected by these innovations. Click on the links below to read their stories. 'I grew a new face to cure my burns' More than five years ago Katherine Dowling, from Manchester, England, was badly burnt in a house fire. A year ago, she discovered a procedure called Isolagen, which has healed the skin on her face. 'I never thought I'd walk again' MS sufferer Toni Caban was making good progress with a physiotherapy program to regain the use of her lower body until she fell and injured her spine. In April this year, she had a cervical and a thoracic spinal cord stimulator implanted via surgery, which she says have given her back her life. 'Teflon sponge cured my pain' Susan Cormier developed a condition where "gag-inducing" pain is the main symptom. Two and a half years ago she had surgery, which involved inserting a tiny piece of Teflon sponge at the back of her ear. The pain has since gone. 'A vaccine helped cure my cancer' Denise Villani was told she had a cancer that could not be cured, but three and a half years on, after taking part in a clinical trial for a vaccine, she is cancer-free. 'Surgeons grew me a new knee' British sports teacher Cathy Terrell's crippling leg injury nearly ruined her career until a pioneering surgical technique allowed scientists to "grow" a new knee joint. 'Robots treated my prostate cancer' After being diagnosed with prostate cancer two years ago, John Fox underwent a type of surgery that involves robots, which is less intrusive than traditional treatments. 'A tech revolution for disabled people' Burke Snyder has used artificial legs and wheelchairs for most of his life, and has seen huge technological advancements in both. 'I had a baby with my sister's ovary' Stephanie Yarber became infertile in her teens. She gave birth to her first baby five months ago after receiving healthy ovary tissue from her identical twin. 'Ear implants restored my hearing' Joshua Foreman, 14, was born profoundly deaf. He was one of the first people to have two cochlear implants fitted in his ears.
