(CNN) -- Business Traveller this month prepares you for those destinations that can be a little more troublesome.

CNN finds out what risky business really means for the executive.

There is an element of risk in all business activities, especially if you want a high return. But what happens when the country you travel to can harm you health and your wealth?

This month Business Traveller is in Lagos in Nigeria. The country is perceived to be the world's third most corrupt country, according to Transparency International, a non-governmental organization focused on combating corruption.

Coping with corruption

When traveling to a potentially risky place, corruption is the most obvious thing that comes to mind. In some countries this can involve anything -- even paying to drive on the roads. Understanding the cultural dimensions and the way bureaucracies operate can help you negotiate a sticky situation. We talk to expatriates living and working in Nigeria, as well as the country's finance minister.

Staying safe

When traveling to potentially dangerous places, the business traveler needs to come armed -- figuratively speaking. There are plenty of courses that are designed for the business traveler. These teach everything from medical emergencies through to dealing with kidnapping. We look at some of the courses on offer and talk to businessmen who have survived some difficult business trips.

Stolen identities

Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes internationally. In the UK alone this happens every four minutes. The business traveler is even more vulnerable to this crime. We demonstrate the possible ways in which this can happen from the airport lounge through to your hotel room.

On the road

This part of the show is with Joe Simpson author of the book "Touching the Void". We travel with the author and survivor of a perilous journey in the Andes, as he flies around giving lectures to companies. He draws on his travel experiences adapting them to coping with risk in the business world.

Two hours to kill

This part of the show is with Folli Coker, well-known local celebrity and assistant to the governor of Lagos.
