(CNN) -- From Glyndebourne to Glastonbury, Henley Regatta to Royal Ascot, now is the season for corporate hospitality.

Companies spend millions of dollars entertaining clients with the ultimate hope of forging strong and profitable relationships. Business Traveller visits the biggest events of the season.

A step too far?

Corporate entertainment is an essential part of business. But now the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is making firms clamp down on all forms of hospitality.

Cruises, skiing trips offered up to clients -- even a harmless round of golf -- is coming under scrutiny. What happens when you travel to a country where entertainment is not only an acceptable way to woo your clients, it is actually expected? We look at the state of play in corporate entertainment, the business it generates and the limits on how far you can go.

The best on offer

Events like Wimbledon are a staple for entertaining clients. But many firms are pushing the envelope with new and exciting adventures to entice to their clients. Business Traveller explores some of the more daring of these, including going head to head with your clients in a combat plane.

Team building

A great deal of corporate entertainment is provided by companies for their own staff and is seen as a key motivation tool. More firms are going beyond and evening's entertainment and actually sending their staff away to team building events. Business Traveller joins one company whose business team is going on a mini adventure. This involves a treasure hunt based on the film the "Italian Job," where each group is kitted out with Mini Cooper automobile. Aside from the entertainment value, do these types of activities actually increase productivity in the office?

On the road: with Deepak Chopra

Chopra is one of the mostly hotly sought after speakers on the corporate entertainment circuit. Business Traveller talk to him about what it's like to be the entertainment at corporate events, and what makes a good corporate speaker.
