Horror shooting in upmarket store
Shoppers comfort each other outside the London store. YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSLONDON, England (CNN) -- A man and a woman were killed Tuesday in a shooting at London's fashionable Harvey Nichols department store, Scotland Yard said. The British Press Association reported that a former security guard walked into the store and shot a beauty counter assistant -- believed to be his girlfriend or ex-girlfriend -- before turning the gun on himself. Employees said they heard four shots. Police found the two, both about 30 years old, dead at the scene after being called to the luxury store after reports of shots fired around 7:45 p.m. (6:45 p.m. GMT). Further details of the shooting were not immediately available, but Scotland Yard said investigators were "not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the incident." No one else was wounded in the shootings, Scotland Yard said. Harvey Nichols, which began in 1813 as a small linen shop, has become one of London's most fashionable and trendy luxury stores. Its five-story building is in the heart of London's posh Knightsbridge district.
