YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSWASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Pentagon on Wednesday identified six Marines who it said were killed near Haditha, Iraq, on Monday as a "result of enemy small-arms fire while conducting dismounted operations." Five of them were assigned to an Ohio battalion. Of those five, four were from Ohio and one was from Connecticut. Another was assigned to a Texas battalion and was from Austin. They are: Castleberry was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve's 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, San Antonio, Texas. The others were assigned to Marine Forces Reserve's 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Brook Park, Ohio. They were all "attached to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward)." Another Marine assigned to the regimental combat team killed by a suicide car bomb near Hit. He was Sgt. James R. Graham III, 25, Coweta, Oklahoma, of the Marine Reserve's 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
