JERUSALEM (CNN) -- An Israeli missile hit a car Tuesday in the Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza, killing two Palestinians, Palestinian security sources said. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed it launched the attack, saying one of the men in the car was a senior Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades militant, Hassan Madhoun, whom they blamed for attacks against Israelis. The other man in the car was a member of the military wing of Palestinian Islamic fundamentalist group Hamas, Izzedine al Qassam, Palestinian sources said. Sources said the missile was fired from an Israeli helicopter. Israel pulled its troops Gaza on September 11 and turned control over to the Palestinian Authority. Israel makes arrestsOvernight, Israeli security forces rounded up nearly two dozen suspected Palestinian militants in West Bank raids, a military source said. The source said 23 people were arrested -- 13 members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, eight from Hamas and two others whose affiliation was not immediately known. The United States and Israel consider Islamic Jihad and Hamas to be terrorist organizations. On Sunday, the IDF killed three Palestinians in separate incidents in a northern West Bank village, the Israeli military said. Israeli forces returned fire and killed two senior members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, according to a military statement. In the other gunbattle, IDF troops killed a Palestinian who opened fire on them, the military said. The man and two others were attempting to place a bomb along a road, the statement said.
