(CNN) -- Mark Rasch travels quite a bit in his job as a cyber-lawyer. So he joined the "New You Resolution" to find ways to lose weight and eat healthier while he's away from his home in Bethesda, Maryland.

Mark and his twin brother and fellow New You participant, Stuart Rasch, figured they could motivate each other to reach their goals and improve their lifestyles.

Here were Mark Rasch's goals: lower blood pressure to a target of 140 over 85; lower total cholesterol from 264 to less than 200; improve diet while traveling to help achieve a target weight of 189 pounds.

Before joining New You, Rasch's only exercise involved walking his kids to school and, while on the road, lifting cheeseburgers to his mouth.

"They never give you a choice to eat what you like ... at the airport," Rasch complained at the beginning of the "New You Resolution."

Over the course of the get-fit challenge, though, he learned that good choices do abound and that the pain of exercising fades away. He stuck to his plan, and by the end of New You was wearing size 34 jeans instead of size 38.

Now, nine months after his journey began, Rasch comes back in for a check-up. Follow his progress on The Buddy Blog and on "American Morning," Monday through Friday, 6-10 a.m. ET.
