(CNN) -- Pedro Rampolla, an air traffic controller in the Wyoming Air National Guard, wanted to use the "New You Resolution" program to eat better and exercise more to set a good example for his four growing boys. A history of family heart disease troubled Rampolla and his wife, Denise. They wanted to address this concern by starting a regular exercise routine, getting off a fast food diet, and eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. Over the two months of the New You program, Pedro and Denise Rampolla struggled to introduce these healthier habits into their busy life. But they did make progress. And they think they'll do well in the long run as long as they keep working together. "As long as Denise and I are bouncing off each other, then we're fine," Pedro said at the time. Now, nine months after his journey began, Pedro comes back for a check-up. Follow his progress on The Buddy Blog and on "American Morning," Monday through Friday, 6-10 a.m. ET. ![]() Pedro Rampolla eats a healthy dinner that includes fish and salad. SPECIAL REPORT
