McClellan to move from podium to couchExiting White House press secretary to appear on 'The Tonight Show'From Ed Henry  Scott McClellan resigned from his post as White House press secretary last month. ORLANDO, Florida (CNN) -- Scott McClellan officially gives up the White House podium Wednesday, but the outgoing press secretary will be back in the limelight next Tuesday as a guest on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." McClellan, who has been traveling with President Bush in Florida this week, told reporters he will officially turn his office over to Tony Snow when Air Force One lands at Andrews Air Force Base early Wednesday afternoon. During Bush's three-day trip promoting his Medicare prescription drug program, Snow, a former Fox News anchor and talk show host, has been settling in at the White House. McClellan said he's looking forward to appearing on Leno's show next week. He said he's expecting to speak to the host by phone in the next couple of days to figure out whether they will just do an interview or craft a comedy skit as well. "It will be fun," said a beaming McClellan, who has appeared to look relieved in recent days as he gets ready to shed the responsibilities of the stressful press secretary post. Since his wife Jill is a native of California, McClellan is planning to bring her to Leno's show. Then, after he completes one speaking commitment already on his post-White House schedule, the couple will take some vacation time.
