EW review: Zesty VeronicasAlso: Flat Franchise BoyzBy Ryan Dombal ![]() YOUR E-MAIL ALERTS(Entertainment Weekly) -- Rougher than Hilary, sassier than Kelly, and just plain better than Ashlee, these 20-year-old twins from Down Under make most of their female pop-rock rivals seem like jugheads. From the get-over-it anthem "When It All Falls Apart" to the Fleetwood Mac-ish "Speechless," on "The Secret Life of the Veronicas" Jess and Lisa Origliasso whip up willful mantras bolstered by tenacious harmonies. Guilty pleasure or not, these girls won't be a "Secret" for long. EW Grade: B+ 'On Top of Our Game,' Dem Franchize BoyzReviewed by Margeaux Watson It's easy to mistake "Dem Franchize Boyz" for "Boyz N Da Hood." Both unexceptional quartets hail from Atlanta, favor phonetic spelling, and are championed by flamboyant label heads (Jermaine Dupri and Diddy, respectively). The difference? DFB put partying above pistol whipping. The result? "On Top of Our Game," a trendy mix of crunk anthems and spare "snaps" jams. The verdict? If their game of choice is writing and producing generic guilty pleasures, then yes, they're on top. EW Grade: C+ Click Here
