Dal Balcon wins selection dispute

Dal Balcon challenged the Italian Olympic Committee's decision not to select her for the Turin Games team. A statement by the Italian Olympic Committee said Dal Balcon would replace Corinna Boccacini on the Italian team for Thursday's event. Dal Balcon, who competed for Italy at the 2002 Winter Games at Salt Lake City, said she met the selection criteria set down by the committee and the Italian Ski Federation. A spokesman for the ad hoc division of CAS in Turin said it had upheld her appeal but that the reasons for the decision would be published later.
