Kostomarov and Navka kept Russia in the hunt for skating's clean sweep

TORINO, Italy (Reuters) -- Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov seized the ice dance gold medal on Monday to keep alive Russia's chances of sweeping all four figure skating titles at the Winter Olympics.

Navka and Kostomarov edged out Americans Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto by 4.58 points with their sultry Carmen Suite performance.

Ukrainian husband-and-wife team Elena Grushina and Ruslan Goncharov finished third with a combined total of 195.85.

Navka and Kostomarov gave Russia their third title at the Palavela rink after Tatiana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin claimed the pairs crown while Yevgeny Plushenko climbed to the top of the men's podium.
