OBERHOFEN, Switzerland -- The Austrian resort of Reiteralm has stepped into the breach to stage two women's world cup ski races that were canceled in France and Switzerland due to unusually warm weather and lack of snow. Reiteralm will host a women's super-combi on Friday and a super-G on Saturday, the International Ski Federation said Monday. The super-combi had been scheduled to take place in St. Moritz, Switzerland, and the super-G in Val d'Isere, France. Reiteralm has already picked up a men's super-combi from Val d'Isere, also canceled because of poor snow conditions. Ivica Kostelic of Croatia won Sunday's race. The weather in Europe has played havoc with the world cup season and left organizers with a major headache. . The season-opening races at Soelden, Austria, in October were wiped out because of heavy rain, and women's events in St. Moritz on Dec. 9-10 were called off ahead of time because of lack of snow. Both the men's and women's races in Val d'Isere this month were also canceled in advance because of poor snow conditions. Copyright 2006 CNN.
