Romania coach ends Radoi's exile
YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSBUCHAREST, Romania (Reuters) -- Mirel Radoi's international exile looks to be over after Romanian coach Victor Piturca said on Monday the Steaua Bucharest player could be selected. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder was banned after he quit a training camp last June ahead of the World Cup qualifier against the Netherlands. "Piturca authorised me to tell you that Radoi can be called into the national team squad again," a Romanian federation spokesman told reporters. Radoi has played 33 matches for Romania and scored one goal. He could be selected to play for Romania in a tournament in Cyprus starting on February 28, which also involves the hosts, Armenia and Slovenia. Romania failed to qualify for this year's World Cup finals in Germany after finishing third behind the Dutch and the Czech Republic in their group. They begin their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign in September and are drawn in Group G with Albania, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belarus and Slovenia.
