Injured Lampard will miss friendly
![]() Lampard limbers up before being forced out of England training on Tuesday. LONDON, England -- Frank Lampard is out of England's friendly against Uruguay at Anfield on Wednesday. The Chelsea midfielder pulled out of training on Tuesday complaining of a "tight hamstring" and will be replaced by Tottenham's Michael Carrick. Lampard, a first choice for coach Sven-Goran Eriksson, is renowned for his durability and holds the Premier League record for consecutive appearances. But with the English champions and the national team facing crucial matches caution has been the byword. "The medical staff immediately withdrew Frank from the session and he is going straight back to Chelsea because we don't want to take a risk," said Football Association spokesman Adrian Bevington. Eriksson is set to limit the involvement of players involved in next week's Champions League matches. Chelsea defender John Terry and midfielder Joe Cole, and Liverpool's Steven Gerrard are likely to play only the first half. England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson usually doesn't name his team until just before a match, but released his starting lineup Tuesday, a day ahead of the game at Anfield. In the absence of the injured Michael Owen, Charlton's Darren Bent will make his debut up front alongside Wayne Rooney.
