Robben banned after losing appeal
![]() Chelsea will miss Robben's aggressive wing play in the championship run-in. LONDON, England -- Chelsea's Arjen Robben has been handed a four-match ban after losing his appeal to the English Football Association on Tuesday over his sending off against West Bromwich Albion. The flying Dutch winger was red-carded for a serious foul play after a two-footed tackle on Jonathan Greening in Saturday's ill-tempered match, won 2-1 by Chelsea. The offence usually carries a three-match ban, the FA suspended Robben for four becames because if was his second dismissal of the season. He was red-carded against Sunderland in January. Robben will miss Chelsea's next three Premier League games - against Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham and Manchester City - plus their FA Cup quarterfinal against Newcastle United. He is still eligible for the Champions League where Chelsea face a tough last 16 away tie against Barcelona later on Tuesday, trailing 2-1 from the first leg.
