Torres was injured when he scored Atletico's winner against Bilbao

MADRID, Spain -- Atletico Madrid strikers Fernando Torres and Mateja Kezman are likely to miss three of the remaining five league games because of injury.

Spanish international Torres, who is Atletico's leading scorer with 13 goals, strained a knee ligament scoring the winner in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao.

Serbia & Montenegro striker Kezman suffered a badly bruised back after falling awkwardly.

Kezman, who has scored seven league goals since joining Atletico from Chelsea at the start of the season, spent the night in hospital on Sunday.

Club medical staff said on Tuesday that the two players, who are likely to go to the World Cup, would be out of action for about two weeks.

There was brighter news for Atletico coach Pepe Murcia about the club's Argentine forward Maxi Rodriguez. The international expected to rejoin the team after three weeks out with a leg strain.

Atletico are ninth in the Primera Liga and still have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe.
