The United States will be participating in their fifth consecutive finals and after the success of 2002, when they reached the last eight, Arena will be hoping for a similar performance from his experienced side. Arena's attention to detail is legendary and his use of a 4-5-1 formation, with Fulham forward McBride often used as a solitary striker, worked to great effect during a comfortable qualifying campaign. It will be interesting to see whether Arena is tempted to pitch teen sensation Freddy Adu -- who is reported to be interesting some of the world's top clubs -- into his full international debut.
