Landreau moves to PSG after spending his whole career with Nantes.

PARIS, France -- Nantes goalkeeper Mickael Landreau, a member of France's World Cup squad, has joined Paris St Germain on a four-year deal.

Landreau, 27, made his Nantes debut in 1996 as a teenager and has stayed loyal to the club ever since.

He has three caps and will be France's third-choice keeper at the World Cup.

"I was ready to leave but I wanted to stay in France and I felt close to Paris", he told the PSG website. "I needed to feel more pressure to be more competitive.

"I think that Paris can help me improve. We're going to play in European competition and it's important to me," he said.

PSG won the French Cup to qualify for next season's UEFA Cup.
