Santa Cruz out of Norway friendly

Santa Cruz had a foot operation six months ago.

ASUNCION, Paraguay -- Paraguay striker Roque Santa Cruz will miss the World Cup warm-up with Norway on Wednesday with an inflamed right knee.

Team doctor Osvaldo Pangrazio said that the Bayern Munich forward would also miss the friendlies with Denmark on May 27 in Copenhagen and Georgia on May 31 in the Austrian town of Drnbirn.

Santa Cruz, who had a right foot operation six months ago, suffered the injury because of over training.

Paraguay are in Group B and open their campaign against England on June 10 in Frankfurt and then meet Sweden and Trinidad and Tobago.
