(CNN) -- With the World Cup upon us, the response to CNN's Fan Zone has already been overwhelming.

E-mails and photos have flooded in from supporters and spectators who will be watching the tournament in Germany or following it from around the world.

"I have been planning on attending the World Cup in 2006 since 1990 with my childhood friend Dave," wrote Eliot Pridoehl from London, Ontario.

"Together we started dreaming that wherever the World Cup would be in 2006 we would be there to share in the experience! Since that point we started making our plans, letting our future wives know well in advance of our intentions (even prior to engagement)... and after 16 years in the making our dream is going to be reality.

"I have had sleepless nights thinking of this trip. My body shakes at the thought of going... I can't wait!"

Petteri Vanttinen from Helsinki, Finland, is also going to Germany -- not once but twice, first with his brother to watch group matches in Munich, Kaiserslautern and Frankfurt and then returning to Berlin on the weekend of the final with his girlfriend.

"I'm really looking forward to participating in the biggest sporting event in the world, it is hard to wait until the games start and especially the moment when I head to Germany with my brother," Petteri told CNN.

"All this, and the Finnish team did not even qualify. I think the trip will be an unforgettable experience. And I'm in line for final tickets, so might even make it to the final!"

Meanwhile Dishebh, a student at Kathmandu University in Nepal wrote to us to ask CNN to launch an international campaign to get his first year exams postponed.

"I hope some people can provide international pressure of some kind to my university to delay its exam or scrap it totally so that I can watch this year's finals," said Dishebh.

"It comes only once in four years and I want to watch all the games. Too bad my university's board exams are eclipsing the whole month of football totally... but I won't let myself miss the action."

Finally, no World Cup would be complete without a World Cup song and Peter and ZiNi from South Korea sent us "Wake Up for the World Cup!" -- their effort designed to get Korean football fans out of bed early in the morning for the games in Germany.

"Because of the time in difference with Korea many of the games will be screened in the early hours of the morning So 'Wake Up for the World Cup!' is a good theme! We just hope South Korea can play even better this time and win the tournament!!" they say.

"If you can tell all your friends to download it that would be great. Maybe we will become famous!!!" Check out http://www.myspace.com/zini2006external link for more details.
