Cocu is confident that he is fully fit after his thigh injury.

LEIPZIG, Germany -- Dutchmen Phillip Cocu and Wesley Sneijder were ready to start the World Cup opener against Serbia & Montenegro on Sunday after coming through a final training session on Saturday.

The midfielders, suffering injuries to a thigh and ankle respectively, joined the group during the session in the Zentralstadion after working out separately from the squad this week.

"The most important is that I can start fit and without any further risk," Cocu told a news conference.

"I did my job this week and normally I will regain my rhythm pretty quickly."

SPECIAL REPORT

Both are expected to start the Group C match on Sunday, while playmaker Rafael van der Vaart will be on the bench after missing the warm-up with ankle problems.

Van Basten expects his first opponents to start with striking duo Mateja Kezman and Savo Milosevic up front.
