SPECIAL REPORT

(CNN) -- With thrilling games, exciting football and spectacular goals amid colorful scenes at the stadiums and in the host cities it's already been a World Cup to remember.

But, with the first round almost over and several teams already heading for home, what has been your tournament highlight so far?

Was it Torsten Frings stunning goal for Germany that ignited the tournament on the opening day? Argentina's six-goal rout of Serbia and Montenegro? Ghana's surprise win over Czech Republic?

Or maybe you've been impressed by Germany as hosts, and the carnival atmosphere in which the tournament has been played?

Alternatively, what has disappointed you so far?

Have Brazil lived up to expectations? Has the refereeing been good enough? Or has the tournament been short on surprises compared to previous World Cups?

Here at the Fan Zone Forum we want to know what you think. Whatever your views may be, we want to hear about them. Send us your comments and we'll post the best ones here.

My worst nightmare! Portugal versus France since I'm also half French.

May the best team win but I think it's Portugal's turn to show the world what they can do.

I think the games are intense. They are fun as heck to watch, but to be a part of the action would be pretty overwhelming. I'd much rather watch from the sidelines.

So far my highlight has for sure been the game Togo - Switzerland, which I saw live. What an atmosphere, in the stadium and in the city. Too bad Switzerland dropped out.

Since I am half British the game is still on! ONE NATION, ONE TROPHY, ELEVEN LIONS!

What a great tournament!

The best highlight? Well, when the underdogs giving the powerhouses a scare! I also think the thriller between Germany vs. Poland, Sweden vs. Paraguay, Sweden vs. England, and the stalemate draw between Argentina and the Netherlands were also highlights!

The highlight, apart from just being in Germany, was attending the Croatia-Australia game in Stuttgart to see the Aussies go through to the second round.

The lowlight, was being at the next game against Italy! For the ref to call a penalty like that was just amazing. This is not just a club game. That ref has cost Australia a lot more than just one match. We deserved to go further. FIFA need an inquiry into a lot of the refereeing at this tournament.

I'm totally agreed with Todd. There have been too many mistakes on this tournament. I don't understand how come such an event chooses so bad refs! I think Australia was badly harmed by this Spanish ref. what did he win by that?! Well his country has been sent home as well!

WAGS - Wives and Girlfriends. Apparently, the WAGS of the England team have taken to falling out with each other - apparently with Victoria Beckham in the thick of it.

The English FA should send them all home now, to stop this affecting the England team, and not in private jets or business class, on economy!

Socceroos! We showed the world that we are a great team, and specially we showed the world we know how to play fair!

We go home but we go with glory!

Highlights (1): The German team! Good for a home team to be at their best and they've been playing well!

Highlights (2): Italy fake themselves through to another win. Diving to get awarded unfair fouls is the only thing this team does well. And it brought them past the Aussies, too. How far can acting get you? Wait and see...

Portugal vs. the Dutch! 4 men sent off! Figo's head butt! Ronaldo's teary exit!what a thriller!

Sadistically speaking, Lampard's misses (sorry! it's too tempting not to comment). Dont worry, he's scoring in the next match!

Switzerland vs. Korea, It was a good game. But I guess referees were blind only when Swiss players violated the rule.

It wasn't fair.

My Highlight so far is just having the WC here. To host all those partying people from all over the world and to show the world that Germans are nice, partying and welcoming the world. It's an unbelievable experience that is really hard to top...

Die Welt zu Gast bei Freunden!!!

My best moment ... The coach of Mexico lighting a cigarette during the match between Mexico-Angola. Dude's cool ...and the overreacting Gattuso smacking Lippi's face during their opening goal celebration against Czech.....

My World Cup highlight is Holland and Argentina. And for sure to my own view Holland is going to win the World Cup because they have very good midfield and fabulous attackers like Roben and Robin Van person.

I´m dissapointed with the performance of African teams. I was expecting at least one of them to reach the round-of-16, as happened in the last 5 WC, but at this point it seems that we won´t see any of them in this second stage (Ghana still has chances, but it needs to defeat the good US team....)

Best moment? The moment for me so far was when Ghana won by 2 nil to Czech Republic, and they are having a brilliant performance making us Africans proud.

There aren't as many surprises this World Cup as the previous one. I would love it if France surprised me and scored some goals.

The word cup brings a new fantastic and overwhelming spirit to the country which Germany has never seen before. Germans start getting patriotic and start looking in to a new future where new values are created. A time to make friends.
