![]() Gygax is expected to be fit for the last 16 should Switzerland qualify. SPECIAL REPORTBAD BERTRICH, Germany -- Switzerland will be without attacking midfielder Daniel Gygax for Friday's crunch Group G match against South Korea. Gygax, 24, bruised a stomach muscle when he received an early knock during Monday's 2-0 win over Togo and had to be substituted at half-time. "He had a scan this morning which confirmed the injury," said team doctor Cuno Wetzel. "We are confident that he will be fit to play again next week -- if Switzerland qualify for the second round." Gygax's misfortune could see former Swiss regular Hakan Yakin handed a starting place following an impressive second half performance against Togo. Yakin has himself struggled with injuries this season and had not played a competitive international in nine months prior to his deployment on Monday. The Swiss are also without right back Valon Behrami, who is attempting to shake off a groin inflammation, but are otherwise injury-free. Thanks to Monday's victory, Switzerland need only a draw with South Korea to make it through to the last 16. A win would guarantee the Swiss first spot in a group which also includes former world champions France. France, who are lying third, will play eliminated Togo at the same time as Switzerland take on the South Koreans. The French need to beat Togo by at least two goals if they are to go through at the expense of either Switzerland or South Korea.
