Trezeguet included in France side

COLOGNE, Germany -- France coach Raymond Domenech will pair David Trezeguet with Thierry Henry in attack for Friday's World Cup Group G decider against Togo.

Henry had played alone up front in France's first two matches in the tournament, a 0-0 draw with Switzerland and a 1-1 draw against South Korea.

France must beat Togo by two clear goals in Cologne to make sure they advance to the last 16.

Domenech, missing playmaker Zinedine Zidane and defender Eric Abidal through suspension, has opted for a 4-4-2 formation with Franck Ribery starting on the right side of midfield.

Mikael Silvestre comes in for Abidal at left back while defender Lilian Thuram is poised to win his 117th cap, breaking the record he shared with Marcel Desailly.

Midfielder Patrick Vieira will take over the captaincy from Zidane.

France have not won a match in the tournament since beating Brazil 3-0 in the 1998 final.

Les Bleus were in exactly the same situation four years ago, needing to defeat Denmark by two goals in their last group match. They lost 2-0 and were sent packing.

"It's an extraordinary sign from destiny," Domenech said. "The players have a chance to prove that what happened in 2002 was an accident.

"Rarely in life are you offered a second chance. The players must seize that chance. Their destiny is in their own hands."

Midfielder Claude Makelele said the players had a much better feeling than in 2002. "It's different this time," he said. "We know we're capable of getting the win we need. There's nothing to be afraid of. We just have to go for it."
