Kasperczack is named Senegal coach
YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSPARIS, France -- Frenchman Henri Kasperczack has signed a two-year contract as coach of the Senegal national side. The 60-year-old -- who took Tunisia to the 1998 World Cup finals -- succeeds Abdoulaye Sarr, whose contract was not renewed after Nigeria beat the Lions of Teranga 1-0 into third place in the African Nations' Cup in February. "I've come to at least play the final of the African Nations Cup 2008 (in Ghana)," said Kasperczack, adding that if Senegal failed to make the final round his contract would be ripped up. "It's a very important time for me. I'm overwhelmed to sign with a country that has asked me to come. I will take on the responsibility fully," he said. Kasperczak, who played professionally in Poland and at French Metz, has previously coached Mali, Morocco and the Ivory Coast as well as Tunisia.
