Swiss Sion swoop for Angola's Kali
![]() Angola defender Kali, left, served a six-month ban after failing a drugs test. GENEVA, Switzerland -- Angola's World Cup central defender Kali has joined Switzerland's FC Sion in a three-year deal, the Swiss club announced on Monday. The Portuguese-based defender, who played in all three of his country's matches at the World Cup in Germany last month, moves from second division FC Barreirense. The 27-year-old, who had previously played at Santa Clara in Portugal, was banned for six months last year after failing a drugs test and missed Angola's last World Cup qualifiers. He regained his place in the starting line-up with strong performances at the African Nations Cup finals in Egypt in January. Kali is the second player from Angola's World Cup squad to move in recent days. Experienced midfielder Figueiredo, 33, moved from Varzim to Swedish club Osters.
