Mourinho: Duff can leave Chelsea
![]() Duff has started pre-season training with Chelsea but may be headed across London. LONDON, England -- Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will let Damien Duff leave the English champions because he cannot guarantee the Republic of Ireland winger a regular place in his side. "The possibilities are he can stay with us or he can move to another club. But he is a player we are happy to keep," said Mourinho on Thursday. Tottenham Hotspur have already had a $10 million bid for Duff rejected, but Mourinho signaled he could leave for the right price. "He's such a good player we will do good business with another club," added Mourino who, in addition to Duff, has Arjen Robben, Joe Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips battling for places in the wide positions. Chelsea continue to be linked with Arsenal defender Ashley Cole with reports stating he could complete a big money move across the capital as early as next week. Mourinho wants to sign one more player, with a left-back his top priority and he appears to be closing in on Cole with the imminent departure of Spaniard Asier del Horno freeing up room in the squad. But Mourinho refuses to comment on speculation over a move for the 25-year-old, instead highlighting the return of a rejuvenated Wayne Bridge from his loan spell at Fulham. "Ashley Cole is an Arsenal player. It's not correct to say anything about him," he said. "We have Wayne Bridge back. His spirit at Fulham was good and it was a good move for him and for us." Portuguese Mourinho, speaking at the launch of Chelsea's new kit and sporting his newly-cropped haircut, is eager for Premiership hostilities to commence. "Look at my haircut - I'm ready for war!" he said, perhaps only half in jest.
