Ricksen is loaned to St Petersburg
![]() GLASGOW, Scotland -- Rangers have completed the release of Dutchman Fernando Ricksen on a one-year loan deal to Russian side Zenit St Petersburg who are coached by their former manager Dick Advocaat. The Scottish club confirmed the move on their web site and stated: "Dick had no hesitation in taking Ricksen and is set to use him next Saturday when Zenit play away at FC Saturn." The clubs will play a friendly at Ibrox Park on August 23. "Zenit are midway through their season as the Russians play March to November, so Ricksen will also play next season as his loan deal does not expire until July 31, 2007," Rangers said. Hammers snap up GreenWest Ham United's bid for Norwich goalkeeper Robert Green was accepted on Monday. The transfer could rise to 2 million pounds ($3.8 million) depending on appearances and incentives. Green's was taking a medical and discussing personal terms. The 26-year-old England reserve is currently recovering from a groin injury he picked up in a B game vs. Belarus in May. After coming through the Norwich youth academy, Green has played 241 games for the senior team. He is West Ham's sixth pre-season acquisition.
