Monaco sign Ivory midfielder Toure

MONACO -- Ivory Coast international midfielder Yaya Toure has joined Monaco from Greek club Olympiakos for a 4.5 million euros fee, the French club have announced. The 23-year-old is the younger brother of Arsenal defender Kolo Toure. He has won 17 caps and was a member of Ivory Coast's World Cup team. A Monaco spokesman also confirmed that former Greece international midfielder Vassilios Zicos has moved back to AEK Athens on a free transfer. The 32-year-old Zicos joined Monaco from AEK in 2002 and helped them reach the Champions League final in 2004. Meanwhile, Partizan Belgrade have signed Bulgarian midfielder Asen Nikolov on a three-year contract. The 30-year-old attacking midfielder, who has three international caps, joins Partizan from Azeri first division side Turan and has previously played for Sofia rivals Levski and Slavia. Nikolov, who won three league titles and three cups with Levski from 1997 to 2002, will replace 19-year-old Stefan Babovic who has joined OFK Belgrade from Partizan.
