BELGRADE, Serbia -- Sevilla defender Ivica Dragutinovic has been recalled by Serbia for the Euro 2008 Group A qualifiers against Belgium on October 7 and Armenia four days later. Dragutinovic was one of the players dropped by Serbia's Spanish coach Javier Clemente after he took over from Ilija Petkovic following the World Cup. But a shortage of experienced defenders has forced the 56-year-old to recall the left back to a 20-man squad for the home double bill. The back four will be boosted by the full recovery of Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic from injury. Striker Mateja Kezman was not included in the squad even though he has completed his three-match ban for a red card in the 6-0 World Cup defeat to Argentina. The Serbians have four points from two matches after beating Azerbaijan 1-0 and drawing with Poland. The group also includes World Cup semifinalists Portugal, Finland and Kazakhstan. ![]() Dragutinovic was one of the players dropped following the World Cup. FOOTBALL MAILBAGFOOTBALL MAILBAG |
