LONDON, England -- Dimitar Berbatov scored two and Robbie Keane got the other as Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to beat Bruges and all but secure their place in the knockout stage of the UEFA Cup.

A single point from either of their remaining games, against Bayer Leverkusen and Dynamo Bucharest, will confirm their place in the last 32.

Yet for the opening quarter-hour it looked like being an awkward evening for Spurs, as the Belgian side began the better.

Only a smart reflex save from Paul Robinson, swooping to his right to keep out Gaeten Engelbert's deflected shot, prevented Bruges taking the lead after three minutes, but the away side did go ahead 10 minutes later.

It was a goal of exceptional quality, Salou Ibrahim spinning on the edge of the box and sweeping the ball into the top corner.

Within four minutes, Tottenham were level. Jermaine Jenas as Berbatov hit a controlled volley into the bottom corner from a free-kick.

The hosts took the lead in the 62nd minute. Keane flicked a clearance towards Berbatov, and when he volleyed it into space, his partner ran on to send a classy finish for his third goal of the season.

The third came 10 minutes later when Hossam Ghaly's right-wing cross was converted at the near post by an emphatic downward header from Berbatov.
