BASEL, Switzerland -- Brazil coach Dunga has been forced to make two late changes to his squad with Gilberto Silva and Edmilson both ruled out of Wednesday's friendly match in Switzerland.

Brazil announced on Tuesday that Silva had dropped out for "personal reasons", and fellow-midfielder Edmilson had failed to recover fully from an ankle injury.

Silva's Arsenal team-mate Denilson and Borussia Dortmund's Tinga have been brought in as replacements for Brazil's final match of the year.

Dunga, who is looking to extend a four-match unbeaten run since taking over as national coach in July, has already had to shuffle his squad once with 21-year-old Belo Horizonte player Gladstone being named last week as a replacement for injured Bayern Munich defender Lucio.

Brazil's new coach has also elected to travel to Switzerland without first team regulars Ronaldo and Eduardo who have been plagued by injury and lack of form.

Switzerland coach Koebi Kuhn also had to reach for the telephone after his squad's regular right-backs Philipp Degen and Valon Behrami were ruled out through injury.

Lille's Stefan Lichsteiner has received a late call-up and could make his international debut against the South Americans.

With no competitive matches scheduled until next June's defence of the Copa America, Brazil have been playing a series of friendlies in Europe since suffering a quarter-final World Cup exit at the hands of France.

Dunga's side celebrated wins over Argentina, Wales and Ecuador following a 1-1 draw in Norway during the former captain's first game in charge.

Switzerland are also confined to friendly action after automatically qualifying for Euro 2008 as tournament co-hosts with neighbouring Austria.

Kuhn's men were the only team not to concede a goal at the 2006 World Cup but were dumped out after a second round penalty shootout against Ukraine.

The Swiss extended their impressive run of clean sheets to seven matches before suffering a surprise 2-1 defeat last month against the previously struggling Austrians.

Midfielder Gilberto Silva has dropped out of Brazil's squad to face Switzerland.
