KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Bora Milutinovic, the only man to coach five different teams at the World Cup, has agreed to become the next manager of Jamaica. Serbia-born Milutinovic has signed a four-year contract worth $1 million a year, federation president Crenston Boxhill said. His salary will be paid by several private sector companies. The 62-year-old former coach of Mexico and the United States replaces Carl Brown, who had been in charge for the past three months. Besides Mexico (1986) and the United States (1994), Milutinovic also coached Costa Rica (1990), Nigeria (1998) and China (2002) at the World Cup. All except China reached the second round of the tournament. His last job as a coach of a national team was as head of Honduras, but they failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Jamaica, who qualified for the 1998 World Cup in France, were eliminated in the qualifying stages for the 2002 and 2006 championships. Jamaica drew 1-1 with Peru in a friendly in Kingston on Wednesday. Jermaine Hue converted a 78th-minute penalty after Prado brought down Jermaine Johnson following a 30-meter run. Jamaica dominated the first half, creating three clear scoring chances, but fell behind in the 64th minute when second-half substitute Alexander Sanchez tapped in Juan Miguel Vargas' cross four minutes after coming on. ![]() Milutinovic has signed a four-year contract with Jamaica.
