Wenger admits to misconduct charge

LONDON, England -- Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted a charge of improper conduct following a touchline row during the Premier League match at West Ham United on November 5.

West Ham manager Alan Pardew has denied a similar charge in relation to the same incident, the FA have revealed on its official website.

The pair became involved in an ugly altercation after Marlon Harewood scored late at Upton Park to give West Ham a 1-0 win.

Wenger reacted angrily to Pardew's celebrations in the technical area and the pair had to be separated by the fourth official.

Pardew attempted to calm the waters immediately after the game when he apologised for his over exuberant celebrations.

Wenger eventually said he regretted the spat but added that he had been provoked by a lack of respect. Both managers have requested personal hearings, which will be scheduled in due course.
