BIRMINGHAM, England -- Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has signed Crystal Palace goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly on an emergency loan. Hungarian international Kiraly, who only recently returned to Palace from a loan spell at West Ham, will spend a month at Villa and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's home match against Bolton. O'Neill had sought Premier League permission to bring in a keeper outside of the transfer window, after Stuart Taylor joined first choice Thomas Sorensen on the sidelines. Danish international Sorensen has a knee problem, while Taylor will be out for several weeks after having surgery on the knee injury he suffered against Sheffield United on Monday. Taylor said he was devastated by the injury and told Villa's website: "I'm absolutely gutted, there's no other word for it. "I can't believe this has happened just as I was getting a run in the team." ![]() Kiraly recently returned to Palace from a loan spell with West Ham. |
