Best thing about Shanghai:
The early morning sunlight sparkling over the river along the Bund, many boats slowly moving in their own melody like in a surreal painting. It seems as if the river is smiling with an open heart. It feels like you can walk on the most gentle and soft land on earth, it is a dream land that only happens then.

Worst thing about Shanghai:
The people are so busy that they forget about the beauty and the gift of nature. They are often too busy and lost in what is outside of our heart, the simplicity of what we really need.

Favorite bar:
The JZ club, because there is jazz music with soul and romance.

Favorite restaurant:
Shanghai Morning (Shanghai zao chen), because it is the oldest and first western hotel built in Shanghai, and they serve traditional food from old Shanghai.

Bai Ling's Shanghai must-sees:
The Bund
Zhouzhuang (Shanghai's Little Venice)
Chinese Communist Museum
Xian Tian Di
Nanjing Road
Jade Buddha Temple

Which song, film or book best sums up Shanghai?
I just shot a film called "In New Times" based on the best selling novel "Shanghai Baby". You will hear the song and the romance of Shanghai, and be moved by the beauty of its soul and heart of a simple young girl's real life.
