YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSLONDON, England -- Babyshambles lead singer Pete Doherty, who had an on-off relationship with supermodel Kate Moss, has pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and cocaine. The 26-year-old rocker appeared on Wednesday before Ealing Magistrates' Court in west London, where he admitted two charges of possessing Class A drugs that police found in his car on November 30. The court heard police stopped the former Libertines singer's Jaguar in the suburb of Ealing for breaking the speed limit. Prosecutor Bryony Darbyshire told the magistrates that officers noticed that he seemed to be under the influence of "something" with his eyes glazed and pupils dilated. They told the singer they were going to search the car and he admitted that they would find drugs, the Press Association reported. Darbyshire told the court that officers found a total of three packets containing 0.875 gram (0.03oz) of heroin and one packet of cocaine, weighing 0.234 grams. Doherty was greeted by dozens of photographers and reporters and a small number of fans when he arrived more than an hour late at the court. Wearing a cream-colored sweater and dark waistcoat, Doherty signed several autographs after the hearing ended. The maximum sentences for possession of a Class A drug is up to seven years in prison and/or an unlimited fine. Doherty was released on bail and is due to reappear at Ealing Magistrates Court on February 8. Media reports say Doherty and Moss have split up.
