YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSLONDON, England -- Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty -- who has had an on-off relationship with supermodel Kate Moss -- has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a car and being in possession of Class A drugs, reports say. Earlier this month the 26-year-old rocker escaped jail after pleading guilty to possession of heroin, crack cocaine, morphine and marijuana. Doherty was one of three men stopped in Birmingham last night and detained in connection with a report of a vehicle having been stolen in London, the UK's Press Association reported. A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Three men were arrested yesterday when a car was stopped in Colmore Row at approximately 9.15pm. "They were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle relating to a report of a car stolen in London and on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs. "One of the men was aged 26 and from London. The other two are aged 18 and 19 from Dundee. "They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries." On February 8, Doherty escaped a jail term over seven separate drugs offenses. He was given a community order for 12 months, requiring him to attend a drug rehabilitation center and undergo monthly check-ups. "You must submit to treatment with a view to ending your dependency on drugs," magistrate Ann McLaughlin told him at the hearing. Later Doherty claimed in an interview he had quit drugs. "I want to start a drugs-free life. I wasn't much of a junkie anyway." British media reports say his relationship with Moss ended some time ago.
