Blair son out of Barbados hospital
![]() Euan Blair was on holiday with his father in Barbados. YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSLONDON, England (CNN) -- The eldest son of Tony Blair has left a hospital in Barbados where he was being treated for stomach pains, the British prime minister's office said Friday. Euan Blair, 22, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital near Bridgetown on Thursday. Earlier on Friday, Downing Street said Euan's condition was not thought to be serious but declined to confirm whether or not Euan had abdominal surgery. Queen Elizabeth Hospital would not comment. Tony Blair returned to Britain on Friday morning from the family's three-week in the Caribbean, including a stay at pop star Cliff Richard's Barbados mansion, and was working in Downing Street. His wife Cherie stayed behind to look after her son, the UK's Press Association reported. The couple have two other sons and a daughter. Euan Blair is expected shortly to start a two-year masters degree in International Relations at Yale University in the American state Connecticut. In May, he left an unpaid internship with U.S. congresswoman Jane Harman after just a few weeks. He also interned for a Republican member of Congress, David Dreier, and the House Rules Committee. Blair has attracted much media attention in Britain. He was arrested in 2000 when police found him drunk in central London after celebrating the end of school exams. (Full story) Tony Blair's return to Britain comes amid renewed speculation about the timing of his expected departure from office. ![]()
