(CNN) -- Richard Quest takes a breather from life on the road to indulge in a trip down memory lane of highlights from the past year. There have been exotic locations, the obligatory moments of humiliation and a few things, to which Richard should never have agreed. Above all, it has been the people he has met who have defined another fascinating year for Quest, and November's special edition offers the chance to relive some of the unforgettable encounters from 2006. The year began in the theatre, treading the boards between Broadway in New York and London's West End, where Quest met the actor Kevin Spacey. He might be one of Hollywood's finest, but Spacey has no doubt that his true calling lies on stage. Then it was off to explore the role of modern royalty. On her Majesty's service, it was off to the unlikely destination of Kazakhstan to examine the official role of Britain's Prince Andrew, the Duke of York. Next up, a rock 'n roll royalty and a milestone for the Rolling Stones as they finally make it to China -- the locals in Shanghai had never seen anything quite like it. Every now and then, most of us could benefit from a little spiritual guidance -- a reevaluation of what's important in life -- and so it was that Quest went in search of inner peace, to understand the meaning of spirituality. It was a subject very close to the heart of actress Goldie Hawn and there was also guidance from none other than the 14th Dalai Lama. We also entered the world of the professional athlete in a bid to discover the ingredients of sporting greatness. Among an elite cast of champions, footballer Thierry Henry and Olympic icon Carl Lewis -- two men from different eras, both driven by their insatiable hunger to win at all costs. To end this Best of Quest we turn to more material matters. For a few brief minutes Richard Quest is given $5 million in cash, before it is cruelly taken away. Not quite accepting his lot in life, he seeks council from the world-renowned money mogul, Donald Trump. QUICK VOTE |
