40 'militants' held in Saudi Arabia
YOUR E-MAIL ALERTS(CNN) -- Forty suspected militants have been arrested in Saudi Arabia over the last several days, a Saudi security source said Wednesday. Some were apprehended in eastern Saudi Arabia, where the Abqaiq oil processing facility was attacked last month. The source could not say at this point whether any of those arrested were linked directly or indirectly to the attack. A week after the February 24 strike, a taped message attributed to Osama bin Laden's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri calls on Muslims to attack the "economic infrastructure" of the West and stop Western countries from "stealing" Mideast oil, according to recordings posted on Islamic Web sites. The incident did not affect the facility's operations, a Saudi official said, and five suspected Islamic militants that Saudi authorities linked to the attack died in a gun battle near Riyadh three days later. CNN Senior Producer Henry Schuster contributed to this report.
